Katharine White, MD, MPH

Principal Investigator, PICCK, Boston Medical Center
Dr. White is the Vice Chair of Academics in the Department of OB/GYN, Director of the Family Planning Fellowship at Boston Medical Center and is an Associate Professor of OB/GYN at Boston University School of Medicine. She is the Principal Investigator of PICCK and is active in multiple research studies in various areas of contraception and abortion. Dr. White is also a contributor on sexual health issues for Glamour magazine and a member of the advisory board for Women’s Health.
Paula Castaño, MD, MPH

Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Medical Director of Outpatient Services, Columbia University Irving Medical Center/New York-Presbyterian Hospital
Dr. Castaño has over 16 years of experience as a family planning clinician and as a researcher in reproductive health. Her primary research interest is the use of innovative technologies, such as text messaging, to collect patient-reported data and improve health care. She has also published an evaluation of smartphone menstrual cycle tracking applications. As medical director of outpatient practices, she develops policies and procedures and collaborates with hospital and university leadership to ensure quality assurance and patient satisfaction.

Angélique Bouthot, BA

Angélique Bouthot is a graduate fellow at Merrimack College, pursuing an M.Ed. in Community Engagement. Her prior work focuses in sexual health, community outreach, college health promotion, and customer service. Most recently, she was the Community Outreach Manager at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, where she encouraged community members to ask questions, share information, and exercise their right to high quality, inclusive sexual and reproductive healthcare and education.

Adjunct Faculty, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Tufts University School of Medicine
Madina Agénor is the inaugural Gerald R. Gill Assistant Professor of Race, Culture, and Society in the Department of Community Health at Tufts University. She is also Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tufts University School of Medicine and The Fenway Institute. As a social epidemiologist, Dr. Agénor investigates health inequities in relation to sexual orientation, race/ethnicity, and gender identity using an intersectional lens. She holds a Doctor of Science in Social and Behavioral Sciences with a concentration in Women, Gender, and Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, a Master of Public Health in Sociomedical Sciences from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and a bachelor’s degree in Community Health and Gender Studies from Brown University.
Diana Carvajal, MD, MPH

Diana N. Carvajal, MD, MPH is a practicing family physician and clinical researcher in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM). She is an assistant professor and is the research section leader in her department. She is the Director of the Reproductive Health Education in Family Medicine (RHEDI) program of the UMSOM Family Medicine Residency Program, and in addition, is the Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism and Strategic planning at the national RHEDI program. Her research focuses on LatinX populations and contraceptive decision-making. In her work, Dr. Carvajal strives to use the frameworks of intersectionality and reproductive justice that recognize historic and current injustices perpetuated against marginalized people.
Jill Clark, MPH

Director, Division of Child/Adolescent Health and Reproductive Health, Massachusetts Department of Public Health
Jill Clark is currently the Director of the Division of Child/Adolescent Health and Reproductive Health at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. She provides leadership and strategic direction for school, community, and clinical programs intended to provide better access to sexual and reproductive health clinical services, education, and primary care for youth and adults. She received her MPH in Global Reproductive Health from Emory University.
Tessa Madden, MD, MPH

Dr. Madden received her medical doctorate from Washington University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University – New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She then obtained her Master’s in Public Health and completed a Fellowship in Family Planning at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She is active in patient care, clinical research, and education. J Carroll is a family law attorney and Director of the Legal Advocacy Program at a local domestic violence organization. J identifies as a white, queer, non-binary trans solo parent by choice. J strongly believes that reproductive justice and family planning is not just about choices surrounding having children, it is also about access to the resources to safely parent the children you do have. J brings experience advocating for trans and non-binary folks to be included in research and conversations regarding contraception, pregnancy, birthing, and parenting.
Joann Thelusma, BS

Joann Thelusma is a doula, childbirth educator, and maternal mental health advocate. She is the owner and founder of Aila Birth Village, a Boston-based private doula practice. Since 2019, she has attended over thirty births at hospitals, birth centers, and homes. Joann is passionate about birth options advocacy, eliminating pregnancy-related racial and ethnic disparities, and reducing traumatic maternal and infant birth outcomes. A strong supporter of community building and outreach, Joann is a Reaching Our Sisters Everywhere (R.O.S.E.) Community Transformer and volunteer breastfeeding peer counselor.

Alex Cottrill is a MPH student at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Aileen Gariepy, MD, MPH, FACOG, MHS

Director, Yale Fellowship in Family Planning at Yale University School of Medicine, Department of OB/GYN, RS
Dr. Gariepy is the Associate Chief of Family Planning, Director of the Family Planning Fellowship, and Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine. Her research focuses on developing and testing innovative, multi-faceted strategies for decreasing unintended pregnancy in marginalized populations, with specific focus on female sterilization, the effect of unintended pregnancy on women, cost and contraceptive provision, and digital health interventions to improve reproductive health. She is the Principal Investigator of a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) award, “Real world effectiveness and safety of hysteroscopic (Essure®) compared to laparoscopic sterilization.”
